A person I work with went for his yearly visit to see his brother in Saratoga, New York. Part of the yearly event is to go to the race track. This year they put in slot machines and the usual crowd of 500 to 1000 is now 5-6,000 people. He had to walk a quarter of a mile due to all the cars. Had to stand in long lines to place a bet and said "I will never go back again, it has changed from a nice country getaway to crowds he can find in NJ". I hope the Montecello situation is not the beginning of the end of what we love in the Catskills but fear it might very well be. |
