I’ll try and get more information up later but wanted to get the pictures of the trip up.

We spent a week October 5
th -11
th at Country Haven Lodge in Blackville. As GH stated earlier we arrived to water levels that were about 3 -5 ft higher than we would want. Luckily Country Haven is equipped with enough leases on pools to get people in water that is at least fishable. The rest is up to the fish and the fishing Gods.
The week turned out very good, taking the conditions into account, great.
I started the week of with a bang, a 12+lbs Salmon, within 5 minutes of stepping in the water. “This is going to be a great week” I thought to myself. The pool provided me with some more action for the rest of the morning. After that session I didn’t touch a Salmon for almost 2 days.
I ended up with an ok week, but not the promise that the first day game me. Others on the trip did much better, while other not as good.
We had 6 salmon over 20lbs for the week and one nearing 30lbs. A lad from Scotland who had been chasing Salar for a few years without any success. Then his first landed fish comes it at almost 30lbs.
One member had one of the most consistent weeks, with a fish in almost every session morning and evening, but none hit the “Salmon” mark all Grilse.
Things have a funny way of working out in general while fishing but I think even more so when Salmon Fishing.
Hopefully more to come soon.
