| Dennis and all. Thank you for your thoughts and the plant basket. Renee would have greatly appreciated your gesture. I'm pretty well back on my feet and at the office too. I suppose I've been in transition towards this for some time (the past 8 months). I knew that things would probably evolve rapidly. Deep down I always knew that moving Renée here in June to Trois Rivières was ultimately to give her a bit of time in a secure and peaceful environment. Over the past few weeks, she was comfortable. On the weekend, she got a visit from her son (who stayed in Jonquière) and her sister (whom she hadn’t seen for many years). After her son left Sunday at noon, she started having more pain and respiratory problems. Yesterday she was stable but not well. Around 3 o’clock, she was in distress and I know she was waiting for me to arrive from the office around 6 o’clock. When I arrived at the Albatross House, the nurse was with her. I had the time to give her a peck on the cheek, tell her I was there, then she simply drifted off. She had been waiting for me to arrive. Renée was a very solitary person. Over the past few years, it was really just us two. There will be no ceremony or salon. I’ll have mass said for her by a good friend of the family back home. Renee wants her ashes scattered over the Ste-Marguerite River, so that’s what I’ll do Saturday the 16th.
