| Lake Wallenpaupack Elevation Targets Hi guys, Here is a chart that shows the lake level target for the start of the month for LAke Wallenpaupack. PPL can release water as long as they are quite sure that they will be at the lake levels shown on the first of the month. If there is lots of rain, like last year, during the summer, PPL can produce more power. Inflows into the laek will keep the levels up in the summer. If it is a dry year, PPL typically can only produce smaller amounts and may actually stop production if the level does not recover. January – 1,183.0 February – 1,182.0 March – 1,181.5 April – 1,182.3 May – 1,185.6 June – 1,187.0 July – 1,185.0 to 1,186.5 August – 1,183.0 September – 1,181.0 October – 1,179.0 November – 1,181.0 December – 1,182.0 PPL typically generates only Monday through Friday, during peak power demand. In a wet year, PPL may produce power on weekends also. The releases are generally for 12 hours. IF PPL releases 800 cfs for 12 hours, it is counted as 400 cfs for a 24 hour day when computing the PPL contribution to the Montague Target.
