| Entomology, Spring is here! A few of you mentioned that you'd be interested in helping out by taking some close-up insect photo's for the site and to identify the species of insects you capture. If you're still interested, the more photo's (different angles) the better. What I'd like to get the entomology section started are multiple photo's of any insect you've captured. If you're new at this stuff, this is what you will need: 1. A camera with a flash 2. Seine 3. Ruler with mm on it Place your seine in a river and kick around, lift rocks up in front of your seine, then lift the seine out of the river. If it's moving, place it on a rock or something with a lite colored background. Place the ruler on the side of it and take the photo's. Then remove the ruler and take a few more shots. These will be placed on the web site. The closer you can get to the subject the better the picture and the easier it will be for us to identify it. If you don't know how to ID the insect, don't worry, we'll do it for you. If you're already a pro, no need for the ruler shots, just post the photo's and identify what they are. If I missed anything, please feel free to add to this thread. Thanks Dennis |
