Not Ranked : 0 Re: ridley creek having trouble catching fish??? Ridley is a tough stream anytime of year because the enormous amount of pressure it receives. The green weenie is a good fly there. I've never thought of trying it in the winter but i don't doubt that it would work. Most of my success there has come on small, dark colored midges, so i'd recommend fishing a green weenie with some small nymph trailing it. It's also important to remember that this time of year trout hold in different water than they would in the spring, summer, or fall. Look for deep slow pools and eddies. There's a big slow pool on a bend about a quarter of a mile down from the bridge and just a pool or 2 down from the lower parking area. Good luck!
