Not Ranked : 0 Central pa. Report 6/19/09 Jessy called thursday night and was looking to fish some calm water. So we looked at the flow charts and decided on going down a road less traveled. She arrived friday morning we packed up the gear and headed west not knowing what we were in for. Three and half hours later we arrived at our destination located in a town where the pace of life is a lot slower than the pace of life in our area and was refreshing to say the least! Our first stop was a a local fly shop to get some info and some unneeded supplies. The gentleman at the shop was very generous and gave us directions to a favorite spot of his. So directions in hand we headed out and about half hour later we arrived stream side. We got out of the truck and took a walk up stream a little way to see what was going on and get the lay of the land as it was our first time here. What a beautiful place off the beaten path with tree lined banks and bug life every where. We saw bugs right from the start and rising fish as well they were coming to cornutas and stone flies. So we headed back to the truck to get suited up and headed out. We picked a spot with rising fish and waited and watched a little while and got in. Jess was first on with a pretty gem and then another! While I stood frustrated missing fish after fish pulling the fly from them before they had a chance to even get in their mouth. I finally slowed down and managed a couple of beautiful browns!! One in the evening on a tremendous spinner fall! Hatches we saw while here were cahills, cornutas, grey fox, slate drakes, sulfers and tan caddis. It was a great time and this water, with much to excite the senses, just a georgous place to be mere words just can not discribe it!! Thank you Jess for asking me to go! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There were even a few of these guy's arround yet!! |
