Have been at the Bushkill near dusk several times over the last week. There have been loads of very light tan mayflys (sulphurs?). I'm new to the fly game, so I'm trying to follow the entomology. Last night I stayed past dusk, and man were the spinners out like crazy. Actually witnessed a fall.
Now for the questions....can any of the more experienced folks confirm the species?
Second...I observed many splashy rises downstream of a riffle where the spinners were falling. Didn't seem like they were taking spent spinners...
I tied on a spent light cahill 16 dry....was in the area of some rises but got no takes. I had a hard time seeing my offering to know how my drift was going. |
