Decided to go fishing today at one of the many great wild trout streams in my location . Was a beautiful windless day air temp about 45 degrees and sunny skies after about a hours hike I finally came to that magical spot a nice pool in the middle of now where quite and stillness abound as I rigged up a size 16 beadhead prince beneath a strike indicator with a quick check of my thermometer the water was 43 degrees and the water running a bit low and gin clear anticapation grew as I approached the first pool I saw some fish moving in the fast water so I carefully fished the edge closest to me with no luck so I decided to cast to the fast water at the head of the pool the line settled to the water and in an instant my indicator disappeared I pulled up gently to feel that familiar tug at the end of my line and preceded to bring to hand a superbly colored 8" brownie after which I caught 2 smaller trout in the same hole thus putting them down.
So I had some more time I continued upstream to the next hole spooked the hole when I came up on it saw fish darting everywhere and decided to take a break and have a cigar after about twenty minutes of watching this pool the fish began to reappear I waited a little while longer to let them settle in and then moved into position to cast again I went right for the hart of the pool with the same results as the last hole on the very first cast my line settled to the water and the indicator disappeared in an instant set the hook and brought to hand a fine 7" brownie and caught one other at this hole and it was time to start heading back as the sun was beginning to fade another peaceful day and great weather for the last day of the year.
