Bad News: Croton Falls Dam Update. Voice Your Concern

Last year I was told that work on the Croton Falls Dam would be finished near the end of last year. I was hoping, therefore, that this year fishing would return to almost normal.

Yesterday, I was informed that work on the dam won't be completed until mid July the earliest. Until then, water will come from the top of the dam, which, as temps heat up, will threaten the trout population.

The DEP says they have the right to release all the water from the top of the dam, regardless of the water temp. (This contradicts what I was told many years ago: that the DEP had to maintain water temp below 70 degrees.)

If you're interested, perhaps you can contact the DEP and voice your concern.
