A Tale of Two Salmon Rivers
I was up to the Salmon River early last season and was walking the river looking at the various pools
and holes while the water level was still down.

Exit 36... what a nice sight that is

I walked down to the Wire Hole from the Altmar parking lot, not a soul in sight, on my way back
out I snapped a photo of this kid fishing this pool and passed his father at the same time.

As I walked along the foot path it was hard to get use to all the colour
of green surrounding me.

On my way back out I spotted this.

It wasn't there when I passed that spot not more than 15-20 minutes before.

Really nice thing to see and the Salmon Season was a month or so away.

When I got back to the parking lot this was the only vehicle that was there which wasn't when I went in.
According to his NY plate he loved Steelhead fishing. Already proved he doesn't care too much for the river.
Jump another month and 3,000 miles to the west.

The Salmon River, OREGON.

Not a fast moving river this time of year.

Has it's bank fisherman with spinning rods.

Has it's own projects.

... and of course like all rivers it doesn't
have any trash service.

Something in amongst the trees along the bank caught my eye

If there were no trees around they were on sticks

Up and down both sides of the river

Trash bags..... Red Sox Nation and the rest of MLB

I am always making new friends where ever I fish
