Not Ranked : 0 Bk 7-13-09 Met up with newbie yesterday evening and headed to the Beaverkill. When we got there at 6:30pm (because someone was late), the hatches had already begun. Birds feeding, fish rising, and bugs everywhere. Mostly sulphurs, but there were also caddis, midges, and what looked to be march browns. What? This late in the year. There were also these chartruse caddis that I've never seen before. The entire body and wings were chartruse and they had the exact wing pattern of a caddis. My sulphur comparadun #16 did the trick for me. It was a cool evening with air temps around 70 when we arrived and 52 when we left. Water temp was 64. River's at an easy fishing level. This is where you wanna hook'em. ![]() I'm only posting this pic so when newbie posts his it looks bigger. Nice wild 15'' hen. ![]() See you in a few hours Brian. Cdog |
