It's really not that hard to tell, but as a rule if it has red AND black spots, it's a brown like the one in your link. Rainbows only have black spots, and they...um, look like a rainbow. For brookies look for the wormy back and the white edge on the fins. And if you can't tell if you have caught a Dolly Varden, a bull trout, a lake trout, an arctic char, or a brookie, just put it back.
