Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to take a sec to introduce myself. I've recently gotten into (read:addicted) fly fishing and I've been reading these forums for a few weeks but was waiting for the right time to join. Not sure why now is better than 2 weeks ago but here we are.
I've been fishing a few times and read Tom McNally's Complete Book of Fly Fishing cover to cover, but I'm still very new to the sport. Having caught my first fish a few weeks ago has made me...well, I'm about as obsessed with the sport as anyone can be. I grew up fishing with spinning rods from when I was able to walk so I guess it's a natural step in my evolution to move on the fly fishing.
I'm looking forward to becoming a part of this community and hopefully contributing something to these forums, though I don't know enough about fly fishing yet to be much more than a parrot for the things I've read and the youtube clips I've watched. But if anyone lives in the NYC area and ever wants to go fishing I'm a willing compatriot and a decent storyteller. I'm definitely planning to take a couple of weekend trips before it gets too cold. See you on the forums or in the streams!
