BIG CATCH OF SHAD Party of Delhi fishermen Capture nearly three hundred pounds at one haul.
A party of Delhi fishermen, Sheriff Charles Warner, W.T.Black, J.D. Birdsall, Postmaster J. M. Preston, Superintendent of Poor J.F. Foreman, W.E.Powell, M.S. Gladstone, A.W. Dubben, M.M. Palmer and J.W. Gibson went to Hancock last week Wednesday to fish for shad. They made but one haul and landed 274 shad and four carp. One of the carp weighed over sixteen pounds. The fish filled four sugar barrels. There has been great shad fishing on the East Branch this year.
