Fishing the kinderhook

yesterday i fished the kinderhook,. the season is open on this stream until Nov/ 30....... down stream of adams crossing, i thought i dressed for the weather , but within 20 minutes i could not feel my legs, the water was numbing cold, and moving swift,.. Any advice for fishing this time of year,.. i also use nymphs, but had very limited action..Vince
