I have recently( 2years) taken up flyfishing and I absolutely love it. my passion for bowhunting is slowly decreasing with the lack of deer in the hancock area where i hunt. I was thinking of putting some time in fishing one of the rivers that has extended, no-kill, seasons such as the willowwemoc or beaverkill in november. I have hunted up there for 23 years and never fly fished any of those rivers. my question is it at all productive through november assuming normal fall/late fall weather? is it probable to hook into fish at that time of year or highly unlikely? quantity matters more than size in this case just to have fun, all catch and release...not looking for spots but just if it is still possible or likely to catch fish that late in the year and any specific river i should target? also,fyi, not looking for the"dry-fly" experience, since i'm so bad with drag the fish probably roll upside down laughing at my presentation. nymphing or streamers would be fine. may help me with the learning process prior to april. thanks in advance, richie  |
