Rivers without roads

Hey,
Could anyone give me some clues to good river fishing for trout without a road spitting distance away. I live near lake George and it seems like most of the good rivers near here are closely followed by roads. I enjoy hiking into Ponds to fish, but would like to hike to some decent river fishing. Any suggestions. No hike is too far. thank,Frogge.
