advice for Fall Creek?

I'm in the Ithaca area bi-weekly for *ork,
and today I decided to play a little mid-day hookey after my meeting ended.

I researched area streams to find a spot to fish,
and settled upon Fall Creek. All my researched advice said to "get above McClean", so that's what I did.

I was a bit disappointed in that the stream is quite small up there, with not a lot of (deep) runs (that I found in my ~1 mile ea.way trek, wading...) that could hold trout. Granted, I was blind fishing, in more ways than one. An exploratory excursion...

Ironically, the only place I had any action, was at the bridge where I parked; and fished last, after hiking *way* upstream. 2 native Brook Trout. So, not a total loss...

Anyway,
my question:
How is this stream *below* McClean, down to Freeville? A little wider? Deeper? more Runs? Worth my while? The DEC sticks ~5k Brown Trout in this stream each year, so they gotta be *somewhere*, right?

I need to get a gameplan together for my next round of hookey, in a few weeks...
