Help,
I'm scheduled to go to Lake Placid the 2nd weekend in June. I'm supposed to go fishing with my new son in law. I'm new to fly fishing and don't want to come across as the total idiot I am. I'm a reasonably proficient fly tyer. I'm hoping to fish the West Branch of the Ausable and am open to any help. What sections are most likely to see the least pressure, what time of day is best(?very early morning, ?late evening. One Website indicates a green drake hatch might be expected. What the hell is that and what kind of fly should I tie to match it. I'm considering trying some "Czech Nymphing". I've tied the nymphs but have never tried the technique. Would this be an option. Thanks for any help. I really like the guy and am hopefull I won't be exposed as a total bozo. Frogge. |
