A story with a happy ending

I'm new to the board, i have read a few posts, and i find them interesting,.. i used to visit another board, but this board's posters seem closer to home, any way,.. i live in Columbia county ny, and i went visiting in Delaware county ny, i saw many small stream's which i new were tributaries of the Delaware river, and kept thinking on the way home i want to try my new 3 weight rod. i hoped i would find some trout,. Yesterday was rain, but not hard, and i knew i had a good chance that the stream's would not be upset,. so while traveling home i kept searching for a spot to stop, finally, i crossed a small bridge and my instinct said stop, When i first checked the stream, i was lucky enough to see a hatch coming off the water and i could see many hits on top of the water, i ran back to the car, slapped my waders on , and in a few minutes i had a nice brown on my line, my girl friend stood on shore, i had a look on my face that say's " i hit the jack pot" and a smile from ear to ear......... well an hour later , i had caught 5 trout, some were small and i set them back, but i caught a few 11 inchers, and they are know resting in my freezer,.. I have never had much luck exploring new streams but today was different ..vince
