First Time Schroon Trip- Any Advice Appreciated

I am headed up to the Schroon River on Friday for the first time. I was wondering if anyone knew what flies are recommended there for this time of year. I'd like to do some tying in preparation for the trip. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone had any advice about access and fly shops in the area.
