Delaware w/e report 4/28 & 4/29... All,
Hit the Delaware this past w/e with my father. We floated two days on East Branch with guide Joe D. Friday and Saturday had real nice Hendrickson hatches along with Quill Gordons. We fished mostly streamers in the morning until the bugs started showing up and fish were rising (around 2-3pm). Sunday was a lot tougher than Saturday due to high wind and cold weather front which moved in which caused a lot less bug activity and no real evident major hatches.
We did not have a ton of rising fish but got into some really big browns rising consistently. I caught two 21"+ fish on Hendrickson emerger & cripple (size 14s) along with another nice 18"+ fish on streamer pattern. My father also got a nice 18"+ brown on Hendrickson parachute dun. We had a few other smaller fish too but the large browns were definitely the best fish I have ever got up there!
Overall, an exciting trip and great to be back into trout season again!! Let me know if anyone has any specific questions.
