| Frogs Fanny dry fly alternative and review also works with nymphs Today I received my shipment of an alternative to Frogs Fanny. Many of you are spending $5.95 per 1oz bottle. (I believe the bottle is what contains the weight of 1oz.) I doubt the stuff inside the bottle is 1oz. Before I continue with my review and offer, I'll bring up the topic of the other thread. I complained that my eyes were burning after floating down the river all day long. My conclussion is that they were drying out and burning from the use of the Frogs Fanny product. Today, I opened the box to my shipment and peered at the contents. Inside, 1 Gallon of dry fly stuff, Shipment label, and a "Material Safety Data Sheet". Hmmmm.... this immediately caught my attention. The very first sentence on the page says, "May cause discomfort to the eyes". Assuming but not confirming that the ingredients in the product that I ordered vs the ingredients in the Frogs Fanny product are the same, I think it's fair for me to let everyone know that if you use this product, you may experience not only eye discomfort, but other "Hazzards". "SUMMARY OF HAZARDS" May cause discomfort to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. In case of contact, flush eyes with water and wash skin with soap and water. If inhaled and breathing becomes difficult, remove to fresh air. If discomfort persists call a physician. Also noted: EYE PROTECTION IS RECOMMENDED as well as, PROTECTIVE GLOVES. LINK Frogs Fanny via the ORVIS Catalog http://www.orvis.com/store/productch...subcat_id=6022 I couldn't wait to put this stuff through a rigorous test with my CDC flies. The end result is that the stuff I received works just as good Frogs Fanny. 1. The consistency appears to be identicle. 2. The color is the same. 3. I drowned 2 flies (CDC type) and applied Frogs Fanny to 1 fly and the substitue to the other. The results were the same. **Take a look at the attached photo and you tell me if you can tell which is which. In another thread, I mentioned that if you donated $20.00 or more to this site, I would refill your empty or nearly empty bottles of Frogs Fanny free of charge with this alternative. Let me just modify that a little. I'll refill 5 bottles for you. It's not that this stuff is super expensive, it's that this stuff is a little difficult to work with and I'm not going to be sitting around all day long filling empty bottles. Either way... Look at it like this, you have a few bottles lying around, I'll fillem up for you. Instead of paying close to six bux a bottle, I'll do it with a simple donation. If you've already donated, you're grandfathered in for this offer. Just PM me or email me and I'll send you all of the details. (Guides are more than welcomed to cash in on this offer). Just to clarify... I'm not charging you for this stuff... If you donate, I'm giving it to you if you chose to take advantage of the offer. Hope this stuff helps.
