Abel Fly Reel Company
While at the Fly Fishing Show a couple of weeks ago I had the
chance to stop by the Abel Fly Reels booth and spoke with Jeff
one of their representatives.
I mentioned that I had a few (Exhibit A) of their reels and I was
always leery of changing out a spool, I stood the chance of
losing the nut. He assured me even if I did lose the nut the reel
was still fully functional.
He offered to send me some spares. I gave him my home address.
Today the postal official delivered a package from Abel Fly Reels.
Inside I found (Exhibit B) spare locking nuts for my reels.

Exhibit B
Did I also say there was no charge?
Thank you Jeff and the good people at Abel Fly Reels.

As always, a loyal Abel customer.

Some people will promise anything... to get you away from their booth, hey AK? You should have pestered some western outfitter...
Three cheers for Abel.

Re: Abel Fly Reel Company
AK - great to know. I've had the same concern. When you say "locking nut" are these the same as the ones that your reel(s) came with? I have a Big Game reel that could stop a freight train heading downhill, but I have shared your fear of losing that nut when on the water.
IMO - the best reels on the market, but not cheap...

He(Andy)
must take after his father.. quick to get the package in the mail. Glad you were happy with your experiences with Abel.
What baffles me about their reels is why they do not have a sealed drag for the money one would think that would be a standard feature.
