Girlfriend (living in boston) is a little past beginner, she can cast acurately to about 15-20 yds but hasn't been on any extended trips, I'm looking to show her more of reading water, learning insects, feeding patterns etc. I'm working on developing her into a fishing machiene!!
Thanks again! |
Upper Connecticut River in Pittsburg, NH is within 5 hours of Boston (within 4 I think). I got the report that the Landlocked Salmon run is ON as of this past weekend, and trout are also beginning to be caught too. Ice is out or breaking up on all the lakes and water is in the low 40s in most spots. Lopstick Lodge can help, contact them.
I think the Deerfield River has both stocked and some wild fish. I was out there once to ski Berkshire East and was salivating over the streams out there like the Deerfield. I've been told the trout can get very selective in the summer low flows, but go now and should be some good fishing around, including the tribs.
