| Connecticut River newbie to NEFF Last week I happened along this site while surfing. Normally I visit and post on FTF and its sister and brother components. What caught my eye about this site were the Big D fish pictures, especially the smallies! Then I saw the string for setting up Even though today is Fathers day I can’t get out. We have a family party today celebrating birthdays and graduations so I made some time yesterday. I love to wade the So far this year’s high water has only allowed me access to a couple of spots (fished by many) where I have enough room to throw a fly. Nothing large as far as the fish but colorful enough to load in, see how things work and start off the category. When conditions are right you can catch the buggers all day. ![]() The rig I’m using here is a 9 ft / 5 wt Gatti with a J. Austin Forbes composite loaded with 9 wt WF-Floating for casting large flies and foam gurglers. ![]() The fly used is some thing I developed that I call the Howser clouser. It will catch anything including carp. ![]() I hope the SNE forum block will take off. There are so many fresh and saltwater fly fisherman in the area that can contribute. ![]() |
