As the seasons change, bringing those cold nights and days that barely warm, the streams take on that clarity that sees to be present on these cold times. Such is the case on the last few outings. Caution is a requirement if your quarry is to be fooled.
Even the hemlocks cannot provide cover for you.
On this day even my best wet fly the Picket Pin would not get the job done. A fly that I received in a swap on this site proved to be the winner.
So in a location as such, caution and a fly swap emerger enabled me to bring some wild beauty to hand.
Winter is closing in.
