    Hello

    Hi guys,
Just wanted to introduce myself. This is my first year fly fishing....I'm completely addicted to it. Still have tons to learn but enjoy it. We live on a pond full of bass here in southern MA. Haven't fished anywhere besides there however. Anyway if anyone lives in the south coast area and wants company one day fishing I'd be game! Take care!

    Nice introduction, Josh!

It looks to me that the best is yet to come for you!

Get off that bass pond and go get your first trout.

It shouldn't take long, although don't ask Tomk6251 for any help.

That douche bag is 60 and he still hasn't ccaught his first trout.

    Pathetic.

Ha nice, I have no clue where to find trout in this area but will figure it out I assume. Eventually (may be biting off too much) I want to ocean kayak fly fish. I tried fly fishing from my kayak on our pond and didn't fall in and caught a few no less....I figure ocean fly fishing would be neat/insane. Thanks for the kind welcome, I'll be sure to ask questions if I can't find an answer on here first!

Go visit your local fly shop, there are trout streams all over. Honestly, thats what i have the most fun doing, finding new trout streams to fish.

Also, pick up some books on basic fly fishing for trout. Stream fishing is diffrent than stillwater fishing.

Honestly... I dont want to say this but, after the first trout i caught on a fly, i didnt catch a single fucking trout on a fly the REST OF THE SEASON! I fished almost every single weekend and no dice! That following winter i read and did nothing but study trout fishing techniques and stratigies. The next year I caught tons of trout!!

After that, i was hooked.. Like a junkie on heroin.

The point of my story is, dont get discouraged if you dont catch anything. If you caught fish all the time it wouldnt be called fishing.. It would be called catching..

    Re: Hello

Get a good map and scour the internet. Delormes makes great maps to use for scouting out new water. Spoon feeding is for sissies. It's more rewarding to learn things on your own.

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Yeah I figured it would be fun, I have to do some research on all of that but will try it out next year.
