Not Ranked : 0 Wild vs. Hatchery fish I fished the Wood River in southern RI yesterday and saw a clear difference in the feeding behavior between the wild brookies and the hatchery-raised rainbows. The rainbows sat on the bottom and grudgingly took a black woolly bugger while the brookies energetically rose to a nice hatch of caddisflies. The rainbows just didn't seem to know how to feed on insects. I had more fun with 8 inch brookies slamming an elks hair caddisfly imitation than the nearly twice as big rainbows. |
