Reel flash, real or myth, spook fish or not?

This year, will try FW/Trout flyfishing. For my new 4wgt combo, I chose "gunmetal"for the reel color. Color choices were black, coffee, or gold. The rod is dark matte gray, and the guides are black matte finish. Several folks have admired the rod, but panned the reel as its flashy and they beleive it will scare trout or whatever sees a flash. What do you experienced folks think about this flash spookiness?
