| Autumn Rise I fished a small wild trout stream a few times this week, since the rains of last week. The stream was clear and cold with temps of 56 to 58 degrees. The plunge pools were beautiful with the water looking like trapped diamonds. In one pool I observed 3 rise forms but could not determine the food source so I offered a 18 elk hair caddis with no interest the trout kept rising until my persistance put them down. Even small stream trout can be selective I guess. In the several other pools and runs I was sucessful in bringing a few of these gems to hand, the colors and haloing of these fish are beautiful. To walk these woods and fish this stream in autumn, you fill in the rest. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
