| CT's Wild Trout w/ Pics I started out this morning for some March trout fishing on one of CT's class 1 WTMA. I took my vintage Cortland glass rod a 7ft 5 wt, and headed northwest. Upon arriving I found open water and quite a bit of snow, the air temp was in the high 30s and the water temp 40. As I headed up stream to my first pool I noticed a dimple on the surface, a rise? I watched for awhile and again a subtle rise, I saw nothing on the surface so I did what I always do, I tied on a 16 elk hair caddis 4 drifts later the fish rose and missed the fly, I tried several more times but to no avail. Headed up to the next likely spot and put on a streamer and a few casts later a handsome wild brown to the bank. After releasing on to the next pool. A beautiful brookie to hand. There were several more hookups but I could not land them. A beautiful day, quiet, solitude, and wild trout. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
