| Winter flyfishing w pics With one warm day yesterday and one forecasted today I set out to do a little fishing. When I got to one of my favorite streams I found it iced in. So I drove a bit further south to another one and it was not to bad with quite a lot of open water. The water was a bit off color with the melt underway. I started fishing a streamer and after the third cast the trout started slashing at the fly, this happened several times but no takes, and with all the fury in the pool the activity stopped. I knew I needed to rest the pool, so I sat down for awhile with the thermos and had a cup of coffee and took in the sights of the woods and stream. Ithen went back and gave it another shot. Several casts later I landed a beautiful wild brookie, quickly took the pic and back in it went. Between that pool and a few others I landed several more. I hope you enjoy this post.
