I picked one off of me on sunday. It had sunk in, and now I have a raised red rash. On a more positive note, on that same day I also had the opportunity to catch my first fish on a fly rod. First, a 6" chub on a #14 stonefly w/legs, then an 8" Wild Broook Trout on a #10 olive wooly bugger. My friend has the pic of the trout, so I can't yet post. We were on a small little known wild trout stream in the backwoods of Morris County I promised I would keep secret. Apparently only a couple of people fish there, and it is totally deregulated. My friend caught a whole bunch of brook trout, all small, b/w 5" and 7". Yesterday I fished the Lockatong Creek and saw a couple of guys flipping a carp back in the water with a pointy stick, I wanted to say something, or slap them but didn't. I watched them take a 12" brook trout, and I hooked one twice on streamers...but lost both. Back tonight, with 5 less flies than yesterday. Gotta start tying now!
