| Trout anglers beware Trout anglers beware Bad news on two of the state's most fabled trout waters. I understand that the DEC has confirmed the invasive algae didymo on the West Branch of the Delaware River. This, of course, will inevitably impact the Beaverkill and Willowemac. Remember, there is no known cure for this invasive, which looks like used toilet paper. I also heard that a Lake Placid resident opened flood gates on a private dam, dumping silt, sand and muck into North Meadow Brook, a tributary to the West Branch of the Ausable. That's prime brook trout water, at brookie spawning time. |
