Hi all,
I went to the
KLG for the first time yesterday. Had a good time and found it really pretty and perfect fishing water (tried to tune out the construction vehicles on occasion).
Caught some great rainbows on caddis emergers (thanks to BKill for tip). There were sporadic rises but nothing concentrated. In the slower sections, I couldn't seem to get the fish to hit anything aggressively. I was doing much better in pocket water. (I'm sure all this is as much a comment on my skill as anything else, but this is simply a report from my perspective & I know it may not be applicable to others.)
The one ignominious moment was when I slipped off a rock and managed to fall and break both reel and reel seat. I'm an idiot but unhurt.
Anyway, I thought the
KLG looked like a terrific fishery, and from the write-ups here, it certainly sounds it.
Just a basic questions: is it productive year round or does the water temperature make that untenable?
Thanks.
