Well boys,
I smoked'em today at the Gorge! Browns, brookies and bows! Got there around 1pm and fished the pool right in front of the middle lot. Its just a habit, even though it gets pounded, however I get 1 fish everytime, so why pass it up? So, the RS2 hooked me a NICE trout, and the colors were astonishing! It looked as though someone branded it with a honey comb pattern. It was that defined. Tiger tout? Or just a weird look'n brookie?
As I made my way up stream, I met up with a guy named Jim. A GREAT guy, just getting into the sport! Helped him out for about an hour and gave him tips and techniques. In the hour we fished together, I saw a vast improvement! No worries Jim, youll get it! Oh, and you shouldn't have bailed so soon, as soon you left and I moved down a bit from where you were, it came alive!
Fished all the nice pool within 200 yards up and down from the middle lot with only one other fish. RAPED. So I got smart and walked down to where there were no pulloff's for cars/trucks, thinking it would deter some people. Well sure enough, I was right!
Began hooking fish in all the little pocket water. The harder it rained, the better the fishing was! Landed an absolute BEAUTIFUL brown, about 16-17''. It was on 2lb test, so needless to say I was about 5lbs heavier after I released the fish
Almost all fish were holdover browns/bows. Only two brookies came to hand. The RS2 is gods gift to fly fishermen.
A WONDERFUL DAY! Rain and all! Let it pour! Keep the fair weather guys away! Tight Lines!
