Not Ranked : 0 klg report 3.8.09 Well to day myself dr gonzo and jalajoie headed out to the gorge on this fine day. I went 4 for 7 Gonzo went 1 for 6 and jay went 2 for 4. Well it all started right off the bat .' We were one of the first people in the gorge. I instantly hit up my little special place. On my first drift i hit a nice brown. missed a hit on the second cast. On my thrid drift i hooked into another brown.10 or more drifts on different seems I finally hit into a little bow. Gonzo and jay were up by monument pool at the bend they both caught a fish jay caught a really nice brookie and Gonzo hit a brown. Soon after that hunger started to set in so we broke for bread. The afternoon got really slow. The water temps on arrival were 40 F and rose to 48F by late after noon. So not satisfied with the days offering we headed down to berthas pool. I call it berthats pool because i have ldr two pigs on two different occasions. On my 10th drift i hooked into a very nice bow that took a few runs on me . Finally gonzo helped me net him. That was the icing on the cake.A second fish on my own fly again. The gorge today was like a zoo.But there was a lot of water to fish. The flow in the morning was 145 cfs which i liked alot. All in all great day . |
