Floated the Ramapo

Two weekends ago I had an interesting experience. I went to the Ramapo in Bergen County N.J. There was a fair amount of ice on the river and one particular chunk seemed like a nice casting platform so I climbed on board. The piece was about 2 feet thick and about 15' by 15 '. Then I felt a sensation and thought I was getting dizzy untill I noticed trees going by, I was floating down river! I said oh, what the heck, I wasn't moving that fast and the water wasn't that deep so I stayed on and cast into the banks and managed to snag a sucker. I floated from what is known as the Glen Gray bridge to just above the wall by Patriots way untill I got stuck on a rock. I felt a little like an idiot,but then again most non fisherman think we are nuts for fishing in the winter anyway.
