What to fish this weekend?

OK, all, here's the deal: I've yet to catch a trout. I've caught tons of panfish this past August with dry flies, but have never caught a trout - not even post-stock.

I'm hoping to get out onto either the Musky or the Pohat sometime tomorrow, probably afternoon. Depends upon holiday stuff, kids, etc. If I knew that it was a definite, or when I was going, I'd ask for a guide... but I don't. T'is the season, and who knows what will happen.

BUT, if I do go... I could really use some advice.

I have a few different nymphs. Both of my rods are equipped with floating #5 line. I was thinking about using an Olive with a BB weight set up around 8" before the fly on the tippet.

I tend to place myself, as quietly as I can, beside a hole that I've seen trout in before. Cast upstream and let the current take the weight and nymph down past where I think the fish are. I struggle to keep the line reasonably taut, but I'm working on that.

Anything grossly wrong with this approach and set up?
