    Flat Brook camping

Is there any decent camp grounds near flatbrook? The wife and I want t go tent camping and we'd to hit a few streams while we are up there.

    Re: Flat Brook camping

Stokes State Forest has a few nice campgrounds within the park (Rt 206. Branchville)

There is also Harmony Ridge Campground in Branchville and Walpack Valley CG on Rt 615 in Walpack Center...

Hey.. Walpack Valley Campground no longer exists, but the sites do. Its under the name Bear Creek Campground. Its right on the river and the place I usually stay at to fish the Flatbrook. Its also walking distance to the Walpack Inn for celebration drinks!!

So my wife decided that we will be staying at a place called dingham falls campground? its on the PA side of the delaware river. Do I need to get a trout lic for PA now as well? It is in the national park system.

Not if you fish the Delaware. Both NJ and PA license is good along our borders (PA or NY license along their borders). Anywhere else in PA and you'll need a PA license. (Hope I got this correct).

KLG got it right. But I think the BFB is enough to keep you busy all weekend.

    Re: Flat Brook camping

I think it's Dingmans Falls campground, just across the Delaware via Dingmans Ferry Bridge. When coming back to NJ take the first right and it will take you to the intersection at Peters and you can hit BFB by going right or left.

    Re: Flat Brook camping

dingmans falls is privately run, but is owned by the nps, which is why i wouldn't stay there.

Some years ago I insured the then perators. Chris's father had built and ran the camp. Then Tocks Island happened and ACE took over the land. The dam wasn't built, so the family got the right to bid on running the camp they built and owned. Just a few yrs ago NPS tells Chris he has to build a new bath house 50 to 75,000 investment., but even so when his contract was up in two years, he would still need to put in a bid! Guess what he told them to build their own bath house and he isn't there anymore. Screw the NPS
