| BFB YRTCA Update - FSB/NJ TU Meeting Wednesday I am scheduled to present my findings to date regarding the feasibility of a YRTCA on the BFB at the Fred Burroughs/North Jersey TU meeting on Wednesday night. Pat Hamilton, the Principal Fisheries Biologist for NJF&W, was generous enough to give me 2 1/2 hours last week to discuss the possibilities and to expresss her opinions on the concept and resolution of some of the obstacles. I believe that the many concerns identified by anglers have been considered, and with Pat's input I have developed a compromise initial proposal. Please understand that Pat expressed her opinions as a professional biologist and that the F&W has not formally endorsed a specific proposal. I have been alloted 20-25 minutes and will compress a fair amount of information into that time. Some of the key areas that will be presented are: 1 - YRTCA definition and Purpose 2 - NJTU State Council direction to explore a BFB YRTCA 3 - Opinion of BFB/FB Watershed as candidate for YRTCA 4 - Location Preference 5 - YRTCA Fishing Method Preference 6 - YRTCA location and size preference 7 - Reasons for the preferrred location 8 - How different angling techniques are accomodated 9 - Timetable for Action 10 - Next Steps The meeting is at Camp Jefferson in Jefferson Township at 7:30 on June 18. I will make the contents of the presentation available to members of this site after tomorrow night's meeting. I also have a write-up on the meeting Pat Hamilton that I will make available. Why not now? I met with Pat as a representative of the NJTU State Council and have an obligation to initially report my findings to TU. What I can tell you, is that a BFB YRTCA is indeed a possiblity for the 2010 NJ F&G Code!
