Got a late start out of the gate this morning.

Made it into the Gorge then decided to try something different for a change. I was going to fish and fish hard, but I wanted to fish waters I normally would avoid, and try as many different patterns I can to scare up a trout or two.

That is the beauty of living so close to a stream, you can afford to use it as your lab for a day.

The patterns I used were too numerous to list, but what the heck, your a captured audience.

Zibra midges to Humpies.... was thrown at the water for an hour.

Now one might think the area was void of any trout.

Not the case, a young fly fisher hooked into one up stream of me as I was over looking the water, and shortly before I departed, the fly fisher down stream of me also hooked into a trout.

Undaunted, I continued to persist on, the thurst for knowledge.. oh thats BS, I had nothing better to do with my time on the stream.

So I continued to try flies or techniques I normally wouldn't ...

One technique that for the moment that I seemed to have master was to get a clear photo of what I hooked into. I know the past few days those fish didn't come out all that well.

I think I corrected that problem.

This dead tree has a Humpy and a Green Weenie of mine.

After the second eating of one of my flies, a line from the 1970's movie Gumball Rally came to mind.

Let me set up the scene for you, a group of totally different people are (I did say I have a captured audience, right?) racing cars from one end of the country to the other. The Italian crew lost their car and the two of them were sitting in a car dealership, when the driver put the car in reverse his passanger asked if he looked behind? The line was, "Whats-a behind-a me is a no concern of mine" as he drove out through the dealership plate glass window backwards.

So while standing in the MIDDLE of a stream, I had the same thought... "Whats-a behind-a me is a no concern of mine." Till the second lost fly.

I never get mad, only even. Someone have a chain saw I can borrow tomorrow for five minutes?

I decided to try some other place and ended up talking a long walk about in the Gorge.

As always, the old saying about something about lemons and lemonade?
