I fished the Peq along Rt 23 behind Smoke Rise and right below the trout conservation area 2 times this week. Once again I caugt plenty of stocked rainbows but each time 2 wild browns each. One 13 inches.
If the Newark Watershed honors the lawusit which according to the Peq River Coalition they are getting close to this section of the river will be close to the upper tail water section but in my view better because it fishes more like a freestone stream. I caught all my fish on nymphs except the last wild brown which was 5 inches on an adams.
