Hi all, new here.

Hi All,

New to trout fishing in general. I am glad to start reading this forum to learn as much as I can. Just a few things: One, my name is Mike, I am 25, live in Bergen County and have recently began to fish seriously. I like all types of fishing, including trout and bass, and look forward to deep sea later this summer with my brother and his family. Second, I understand this is a fly fishing forum, but can I (and others) post about trout caught with spinning gear? I don't fly fish (bc I don't know how yet) so I was hoping this doesn't rule me out from this forum. Third, I have fished Saddle River and the Ramapo River and I would like to find more places to fish. I guess I would like some input on where to go (within about an hours distance from Paramus, NJ) to have a better shot at catching some fish and enjoying the scenery. I don't like to get skunked, but it is happening frequently. However, I really enjoy the outdoors, so I never feel slighted when I don't catch fish - and I mean that sincerely. So if you all could point me in the direction of some quality rivers/streams, I will be indebted to you forever. I plan on Big Flat Brook, Little Flat Brook, and KLG (that is a bit farther from me). Any others? Ramapo is fun, but I have only fished behind the athletic fields, so any other spots you all know would be great information, too.

Anyway, enough rambling from me. Hope I didn't bore you all to death. I also hope to gain as much information here as possible, and hopefully report back some great fishing experiences. Good luck to everyone this season.
