Felix Cabarle Passing

Felix Cabarle Grandfather of NEFF's Dennis Cabarle

CABARLE Felix Cabarle Retired Elizabeth Police Detective and church usher, 90 Mr. Felix Cabarle, 90, of Elizabeth passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at the Elizabeth Nursing Home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey St., Elizabeth, on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at 10 a.m., thence to Holy Rosary/St. Michaels Church in Elizabeth, where the Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment is at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Born in Bound Brook, Mr. Cabarle lived in Elizabeth for 70 years. He was a detective with the Elizabeth Police Department for 44 years before retiring 25 years ago. He was a member of the Elizabeth PBA No. 4, the Union County Softball Hall of Fame and the Elizabeth Sports Hall of Fame, and was active in the Laborers Local No. 396 in Elizabeth. Mr. Cabarle was a member and usher at Holy Rosary/St. Michaels Church in Elizabeth and served on the bingo committee for many years. He was the son of the late Arelio and Helen Cabarle and is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Dixon) Cabarle; his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Smith; his sons, Felix, Roger, Dennis and Thomas Cabarle. He was the brother of the late Alfred, Cornelius and Vincent Cabarle. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. Donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or Holy Rosary/ St. Michaels Church.

Little New Jersey sports history, Mr. Cabarle as stated in his obituary was enshrined in two different sports Halls of Fames, he was a member of championship teams in Basketball, Swimming, and softball.

My sincerest condolences goes out to his grandson Dennis and the rest of the Cabarle family.
