This year, while fishing two different streams, I saw what I took as small sculpins milling around the bottom. The fish were elongated roughly 2 1/2 inches long and were a light tan color with a few stripes running down each side from head to tail. My only question is this, when I have searched for photos of sculpin, they all seem to have big, bulky heads but the fish I saw do not. The fish I saw are more in the shape of a tiny walleye, without a big bulky head. So my question is, can anyone attempt to identify this baitfish and tell me if indeed it is a sculpin? Thanks. |
