WOW what a weekend in the DSR!

My son got is first steelhead Sunday and what a beauty. As he was reviving it, he looked at me and said "Dad, I don't want to let it go." I said, "Well, do you want to keep it?" He said, "No!" I said, "Well then you have to let it go." He held there in the current for a few more minutes then released it and watched it swim away.
I managed to get a couple steel myself.
We landed a few kings and cohos as well.
River was up over the weekend. Running at 280cfs with runoff and water temp was 60. I was told by the owner of Fat Nancy's that they raised the river cause there were only a few kings at the hatchery and were hoping that a release would bring more up. We did see steady fish movement over the weekend, but I'd bet I saw at least 100 kings being dragged out on stringers. Hopefull, some managed to make it through the gauntlet.
