Fly Selection?

I am just getting back into fly fishing and bringing my 11 year old son with me. Can anyone give me a few suggestions for the fly box. We will probably fish the South Branch, Rockaway and the Musky to start. I would like to start with Nymphs, wets and Streamers. We have done pretty well with garden hackle in the South Branch in August but we want to use the Fly rods for the fall stocking.
